EMX Awarded 'Black Wolf' Upgrade Contract
June 2008, Melbourne, Florida EMX announced it has received a US Army Contract to upgrade all its solar- powered, day/night, wireless surveillance trailers with longer range thermal cameras and color cameras. The contract includes retrofitting all of the 'Black Wolf' systems deployed in both Afghanistan and Iraq. Contract value and quantities remain sensitive. Tim Arion, CEO said: "this contract validates the military value placed on ‘Black Wolf’ as a quick set up, forward operating base, day/night wireless surveillance system that can be emplaced by helo or towed by a HUMMV and set up in 15 minutes." With the onset of the 2008 hurricane season, and the already devastating tornado season, Mr. Arion pointed out that: " multiple ‘Black Wolf’ systems could easily be configured in MESH Networks with Radio Repeaters and internet access via satellite, for use by FEMA, State, and Local Agencies. This would allow instant communications amongst First Responders, internet access, and day/night security surveillance of areas devastated by a natural disaster." EMX has manufactured and integrated over 3000 day/night camera systems since 1998. EMX's thermal-imaging cameras operate 24 hours a day, seven days a week, 365 days a year, and offer protection to people and facilities in all branches of the U.S. military, federal agencies, state and local law enforcement, ports and harbors as well as leading global oil and gas corporations.
